To the inner skeptic in me that always seems to be set on default:
.
Jude 24
"To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy-"
.
The Father has never intended for you to fall. He's always on the ready to hold you up.
He was with you when friends walked out, family crumbled, flunked exams. yes, even when you said you didnt believe, will never want to anymore, when you drifted, when you said God was a concept, and ppl got better because it was psychological.
How many times must you be reminded that God's priority is God, and not you? everything works for the good of those who love him. Gethsemane seasons are for your good. Come on, even when Jesus pleaded for the cup of suffering to pass, God allowed it.
.
"The sovereignty of God is the one impregnable rock to which the suffering human heart must cling. The circumstances surrounding our lives are no accident: they may be the work of evil, but that evil is held firmly within the mighty hand of our sovereign God...All evil is subject to Him, and evil cannot touch His children unless He permits it. God is the Lord of human history and the personal history of every member of his redeemed family."
Margaret Clakson, "Grace grows best in winter"
.
you walk, you stumble, you stand up again, and you'll realise you were taller than when you chose to stay on the ground, wallowing and complaining that there's nobody around who cares enough not to let you fall in the first place.
.
you switch on the lights, and realise that you could have avoided bumping that low ceiling when you groped around in the dark, moping, angry that nobody helped open your eyes and wondering why you cant see a thing.
.
sometimes human beings, me included, can be so pathetically myopic because our eyes stare inwards, at our empty heads, instead of looking out of our sockets, as God planned for them to. How else do we admire his work and give him glory.

"Consider it pure joy..", You say.

I guess it's hilarious to hear me asking if You really DO understand, because its blatantly obvious that You do.
I guess the worst thing to experience would be your absence. Where the source of hope, joy, love is, now lies a void, and everyone starts telling you to stay strong.

Guess i gotta thank you. afterall, you give and take away.
when the world is falling out from under me, and it seems as though you're holding out on me, i thank you for having been there before, i thank you for being here now, for those unexpected whispers when i thought you'd gone. and i refuse to believe those lies. no matter what i feel, i know you're real, i remember your goodness. and it's times like this, when the idea of giving praise is as hard as killing myself, where the only thing i know is that i need to do it anyway.

what a painful pruning season

I've never found it easy to let go, and im very sure im not alone. haha!
im the sort who spends the entire afternoon springcleaning, only to find myself unable to throw everything useless away, thus squeezing as much as possible back into my boxes, drawers, cupboards......... what? everything i own has got sentimental value! when i was springcleaning like... some months back (*ahem*), i even found letters i used to exchange with my cousin back when i was 5. oh the shock.
Every institute i left, i miss. Which is why i say im gonna miss nuh's prd lots. all the boredom, nonsenseS from the crazy ppl, complains and hugs. ayaiyai.
Thank God. For placing me wherever He's placed me before, and for placing me whever i'll be placed in the nxt few years to come. Thank God i get a shot at bunking with my bestie, who so happens(?), to be slogging her nxt 4 years in the school right beside mine, after spending 2 agonizing years apart. mahahahah SWEET :)
