"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it careful round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable... The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers...of love is Hell"
C. S. Lewis, The Four Loves
.
Oh gently lay your head
upon My chest
And I will comfort you like a Mother while you rest.
The tide can change so fast
But I will stay
The same through Past, the same in Future,
Same Today.
.
Oh weary, tired and worn
Let out your sighs
And drop that heavy load you hold
Cuz Mine is light.
I know you through and through
There's no need to hide.
I want to show you love that is deep and high and wide.
.
For I am constant.
I am near.
I am peace that shatters all your secret fears.
I am holy.
I am wise.
I'm the only One, who knows your heart's desires.
.
Oh gently lay your head upon My chest
And I will comfort you like a Mother
While you rest.
Jill Phillips, "I Am"
.
today I realise, there's more than 1 symptom a rock heart.
Thanks, mellala, CAPTIVATING's so timely :)
Thank you God, for the sunrises you display for me.
Thank you God, I'm still learning.
.
p.s to my special buddy, I'm real proud of you, you know that? Supporting ya :)

"Don't Give Up" - Sanctus Real
Well I heard you say you would love for a lifetime
And now you complain a lifetime just doesn't feel right for you
Another casualty of casual love
Another soul out of place,
a heart that gave up

Why do we break the promises we make?
Are we living for ourselves?

Don't give up on love and throw it all away
Don't give up on love and let it fall away
When did it become so easy to run from your pain
Don't give up on love and throw it all away
Don't give up on love

Well I heard you say you can't change a stubborn heart
Yea I can relate 'cause that's how I feel when I talk with you

Why should it take losing everything
to realize it might be time to change?

Your restless heart won't win
'cause you take but you don't give
And you'll keep moving on until you learn what love is

Don't give up on love and throw it all away
Don't give up on love and let it fall away
Don't give up on love
Don't give up on love

Your restless heart won't win
'cause you take but you don't give
And you'll keep moving on until you learn what love is
Don't throw it all away

Dr. Dale A. Robbins says...

"There’s a difference between “love” and “trust.” It’s possible to love and forgive someone, without placing an absolute trust in them. To illustrate this, let’s say there’s a school bus driver who has a drinking problem. One day while transporting a load of children he becomes intoxicated, wrecks the bus and kills all the children. As the lone survivor of the crash, he turns to the church to seek God’s forgiveness for this horrible act of irresponsibility. If he repents of his sin, will God forgive him? Absolutely. Should the church love and forgive this person? Of course. And what if he would then like to volunteer to drive the church bus for us? Do we trust him? Absolutely not! It would be unthinkable to put a person in the driver’s seat who has shown such recent negligence. Certainly, we love and forgive him, but because of this man’s poor track record, we could not risk the lives of our passengers. Over a long period of sobriety and safe driving, this person may be able to prove that he is again reliable or trustworthy.

Remember that love and forgiveness is granted unconditionally, but trust must be “earned.” Trust is the acquired confidence in a person’s actions. We certainly can, and should trust persons who show trustworthy behavior, but because all men have the potential for failure, we should never put an infallible sense of trust in anyone but God. "

One leg and a half's already in the cesspit of nonchalance. This calm is so unsettling.. when i said i no longer feel like I'd die without it, i meant it. and Im surprised.
what a pruning process. I didn't expect this part of me to be clipped off. Is this alright?

I will never trust advertisements.
Lisa...... your lemsips didnt work on me :(

now that i think about it, advertisements are like people sometimes ehh.. if you place full trust in them, ure in for disappointment. and i guess that's the message of the season. You dont learn any better than by going thru fire, fire that burns away every thin, veiled layer you hide under, every encumbering factore. He gives, takes away, but teaches you how to smile even when you lose what's dear to you. You pass thru the fire together, and emerge beautifully complete. And you can smile, and be amazed that you actually CAN, coz now, there's enough in you, and you'll never find yourself in want, because Him in you can never be depleted

2 days ago, i discovered that heart aches can be literal.
it's like taking the first breath of air after holding it underwater. it's like the moment you stop after sprinting the last stretch of a marathon. the sting feels like daggers. it smarts like wow. but after awhile, after acclimatizing, you get better.
they say that time heals all wounds. will it really?
of course not. only God can. time doesn't remove the sting. just numbs it. just helps you forget, but not forgive.
love love love. max lucado's book is staring at me again.
